For a kid, his room is his territory. To make him feel peaceful, the décor of his room and the choice of furniture should match his age and concerns. Around the age of 8 to 10 years, the child’s choices appear so you have to adapt the décor of his room according to his taste and concerns. In this age both girls and boys begin to choose themselves the decorative objects in their rooms. It is an age where they love the bunk beds and where they hide their little secrets in storage boxes, that’s why many manufacturers offer modular cabinets, racks or cubes. It is an age where they still play a lot on the ground; there are a few chairs, except ottomans or very low seats. The carpets are welcomed to extend playing with toy cars or dolls, and when it’s time for homework, you can choose between the new small offices adapted to their size or those classic school desks which became fashionable nowadays and are reissued. Try to separate the sleeping space from the playing space by a painting or a rug for example. Don’t use bunk beds before the age of 6 years. When two kids occupy the same room, you can create two different ambiances, for example by customizing the room in two different colors (a closet with two doors in two different colors to separate each kid’s space). Arrange furniture smartly and according to the room’s space (shelf, wall cabinet, dresser, etc.). Choose smart furniture that doesn’t occupy all the space to leave some free spaces in the room. Let the colors be according to your kid’s choice.
